10:23 pm I'm alive and well.. I never remember to update this darn thing.
Work has been busy - we have a bunch of events in the next month and a half or so..
Still feels like all I do is wake up, go to work, come home, eat dinner, watch a little tv, go to bed.. then do it all over again. this whole "growing up" thing is not all it's cracked up to be.
oh, and I've joined myspace.. thanks a lot JPo!

07:19 pm - Apple Airpot Express base station -For my own resources-
From CNET: This is a great product. It was my first Apple product. I have my music collection on my laptop and this works great to stream music to so it plays through my stereo. The setup directions aren't that great, but I found some on the Internet that worked great. Hopefully they will help someone else as much as they helped me:
1. Before you go wireless, physically connect your AirPort to your router with an Ethernet cable. Plug in the AirPort, and wait until the LED turns solid green.
2. Start the AirPort Admin Utility for Windows. You now want to configure the AirPort to join your existing network "wirelessly". You should see the AirPort Base Station appear with its IP address in the Base Station Chooser.
3. In the lower right-hand corner, click on Configure... Click on the AirPort tab. In the "AirPort Network" section, Use base station to: "Join an Existing Wireless Network". Underneath that, type in your existing wireless "Network Name". You will be asked to change the password as well.
4. Click "Update" in the lower right-hand corner of the Configure window. Your AirPort will be restarted, and the LED should turn solid green again.
5. Finally, disconnect the AirPort from your router, and remove the connecting cable. You should NOW be able to plug in your AirPort anywhere to join your existing network.

10:59 pm I went to the craft store today.
I bought such cool fabric! Can't wait to make a quilt with them. Oh how I have so many projects going on in my head.. too bad my hands can only do so much at once. If it wasn't for the cutting and all the ironing.. no problem!
I also got more yarn - pretty blue color too. And a couple stamps - only $1 each!
I had a bunch of 50% off coupons so I got the yarn on sale.
Good times.
It's a good thing I'm addicted to crafting and makeup.. rather than something seriously destructive.
|
10:21 am I have a job interview this week.
Scary and exciting!
I finished cutting up fabric for the next quilt I am working on and I'm going to start sewing the rows up and then together and then yay new quilt!

11:24 am I only need 2 more people to sign up for my free ipod referral code!
http://www.freeiPods.com/?r=15543587
All you need to do is sign up, complete 1 offer, and then get 5 people to sign up for your code - and you get a free ipod too!!!
Two offers that I used and know for a fact work:
EFAX.COM - completely free - but you do have to give them your credit card # - you cancel after the freeipod site validates your offer - it only took a couple days for me.
BLOCKBUSTER.COM - 9.99 for unlimited month of rentals through the mail - only took a couple days to be validated - I cancelled after the first month so it only cost me 9.99.
I only need 2 more people!!!! Help!

02:05 pm I'm in the market for a new computer - this time a laptop. I currently have Dell desktop that I've been very happy with. I have been researching different computers and have started looking at Apple's 15" Powerbook. It's a bit more money than PC laptops, but again.. it's an Apple. I haven't used an Apple computer since highschool, but I've been thinking it might be a good thing since it isn't susceptible to viruses and other bad computer things.
Any opinions on laptop computers from people reading this?
I'm looking for something for: internet, email, word processing, watching dvds, burning stuff, taking it places, and any other things that might come up work-wise.

11:05 pm I started quilt #5 today.
All 5 quilts are in different stages of production. One is almost finished - I might try and finish it tomorrow.
So many projects - it's hard to choose which one to work on!
Currently I'm working on 5 quilts, two different afghans, and one scarf.
Good times.
|
January 20th, 2005
12:23 pm I'm currently in the middle of making two afghans. Same pattern - different color yarns. I need more of the first color - which is why I started on the second.
I have a pretty complicated idea for my next quilt. It involves tons of little 1" squares. Oy, with the cutting. I have to get a color printer set up first. Then buy the fabric. But really, I need to finish the other three quilts I have already started.
Oh how crafting has become an addiction.

10:29 pm - CONGRATULATIONS THON DANCERS! I just wanted to update to congratulate NRT's THON 2005 dancers!!!!!!!! Yay Amy and Laura and Jason (and Katie too)!!!
As Amy already knows - it's a hard physical and emotional experience - but SO WORTH IT!!! If I can do it... you can do it!
My advice: I bought sneakers at Rapid Transit - the sales guy knew what he was doing. Bring lots of socks. Baby powder. Icy Hot. Wash your hair in the sink - you will feel revived. Eat something regardless of how you feel - I made the mistake of not eating when I was nauseous, which only made me feel worse.. a vicious cycle. Be careful of the food they will feed you - sometimes it might be too rich for what your body can handle. You are the dancer - demand to be taken to the "secret" bathroom location if you don't want to wait in line. If you need fresh air - ask someone to take you outside. If you need to cry, go ahead and cry - people will be there for you - perfect strangers! Remember, how tired you feel and the pain in your feet/body is NOTHING in comparision to the joy this weekend brings to so many of the children, and how much your sacrifice means to the families.
Yay THON!
Here's to your 48 hour experience of NO SITTING, NO SLEEPING, NO KIDDING!
|
01:46 pm I only have 2 more episodes of ALIAS season 3 to watch. Then the two hour season premiere and I will be caught up. Amazing.
I've been reading the Babysitter's Club thread over on Fametracker. Also amazing. If you ever read the books, I suggest you check it out.
I finished a scarf the other day, then started another afghan. Oh how my crafting has become an addiction. I admit it. Admitting it is a step, right? I still need to finish my first! quilt! ever! that I started this summer - I only have the last step left. I am also piecing together two other quilt tops. Fun times.
I'm currently watching How Do I Look? on the style network. The person getting made over just said Awkward. Not in the context that we all say it, but you know, still the word just the same.
